Guitar Lessons Content
Our guitar teacher will have a lesson plan for each of your guitar lessons. They will cover all of the knowledge and skills you need to develop into a guitarist. How good you become will be up to you!
A guitarist needs to learn general musical skills. This includes music theory, aural skills, rhythm, syncopation, pitch and harmony and reading music. There are also guitar skills including posture and technique, dexterity, correct fingering, finger independence and strength development.
During guitar lessons, you will cover musical theory, scales, arpeggios, modes, exercises and technique. We will teach you how to play songs including reading the music. We will teach both rhythm and lead. The guitar teacher can also teach you different playing techniques. This includes using a plectrum, finger technique, bending, sliding, hammer on and off. If you are learning to play the electric guitar, they will also teach you how to use a wammy bar, electronic effects, and amplifier controls. These help you shape the sound. Your teacher will be working to refine both your right and left hand technique. They will also help you to understand your instrument including what strings and set up are right for you.
Our guitar teacher can teach you to play either acoustic or electric guitar. Sometimes we get asked what the difference is. The acoustic can be picked played and heard without an amplifier. But you need an amplifier to really hear an electric. But the notes and fretboard are the same. A wide range of effects (foot pedals) have been developed which shape the sound of the electric guitar.
Your guitar teacher can prepare you for VCE, ANZCA or AMEB examinations. They can also prepare you to perform at our recitals. We can teach all styles and would like to teach you how to play the songs you love.
Your guitar teachers Dave and Stefan offer 30 minute or 60 minute private guitar lessons (One student at a time) and 45 minute duo lessons (Two students at a time) in Northern Suburbs of Melbourne – Broadmeadows, Westmeadows, Attwood, Greenvale, Tullamarine, Coolaroo, Dallas, Gowanbrae, Meadow Heights, Craigieburn, Roxburgh Park and Gladstone Park.
You will receive regular feedback about your technique to ensure you are learning correctly.
